My name is Dennis Farrell. I am a native of Mississippi, born and raised in Laurel. I was baptized into the Catholic Church as a child and choose to be Catholic as an adult. I was raised in a strong catholic family and have always been active in the church community. Growing up I attended both Catholic and public schools. I am an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Laurel. I have served in various functions over the years. I am an active member of the Knights of Columbus and attempt to sing in our men’s choir. My formal education takes me to Mississippi State University with an undergraduate degree in Wood Science. My graduate work was at the University of Tennessee where I received a master’s degree in Statistics.I am married to Janet and have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. I am employed by Masonite Corporation where I work as the Technical and Quality Manager. My career has allowed me to work not only in Laurel, but travel and work at 15 other Masonite facilities in the US, Canada, South America and Ireland. While traveling, I loved to attend Mass at the different locations. Last year, in 2019, I had the opportunity to sit in the RCIA program where I was a sponsor. It was a wonderful experience where I not only learned things I had forgotten, I had the opportunity to share my faith and grow in faith with others in the class. Although I enjoy many outdoor activities, my passion is my relationship with Jesus and His Church. I will be one of your RCIA team Leaders for this year.
